The district of Tsuen Wan is undergoing some major urban transformation. To explore the vision of urban regeneration and to engage stakeholders in planning the redevelopment of Tsuen Wan, the Urban Renewal Authority and Tsuen Wan District Councils commissioned CPW to interview and survey local residents, and to conduct a District Aspiration Study. The study not only sought consensus, but also prepared a reference document for future projects of the Development Bureau, the Urban Renewal Authority and other relevant agencies. One of the study objectives was to identify the historical values present in the districts in order to plan for future conservation and preservation strategies. CPW researched both tangible and intangible heritage values of the districts. CPW has researched a range of historical values, ranging from the Princess Alexandra Community Center built in the 1960s to the Hakka culture in Tsuen Wan.
